I am not a big fan of social media. I don’t spend much time on it. It does not interest me. Furthermore, I have never followed technology trends in social media space. There is a lot of buzz around Metaverse, particularly so after FB renamed itself to Meta. It keeps coming up in my newsfeed and I see chatter in WhatsApp groups.
I must admit, I have no clue about it, beyond a news item that somebody got married in(I don’t know, should it be ‘in’ or ‘on’) metaverse. The banner image of the news article show bride and groom like cartoon characters. Why?
At this stage, I have many questions –
- What is it at first place?
- Is it another form of social media?
- What technologies are involved?
- Why is everybody talking about it?
- Who is driving it?
In fact, I don’t know what questions to ask. Probably, I must read-up a bit to formulate meaningful questions and then seek the answers.
